Press release regarding HELPLINE for the admission under EWS Quota, Nov 2007

Dear Friends,
In Delhi around 394 schools have acquired free land from the D.D.A and L & D.O on the condition of providing free education to unprivileged children of society. It was agreed that they would be given fair and equal education as children from privileged section of society without any prejudice and discrimination, but no school has abided to this condition.
Social Jurist filed a petition (W.P.(C) 3156/2002) in high court about this matter, and a judgment was passed on this on 20 January 2004 which ordered that schools who have acquired free land from government, they have to give admission to children of unprivileged and section of society, in case this order not be abided these schools would ceased to be recognized and also land provided to the schools would be seized. After this in consecutive Court preceding the Hon’ble High Court has passed many good orders. If this order would be implemented completely than around 1,50,000 children belonging to under privileged families would get admission in 394 schools.
Social Jurist and Pardarshita are continuously tracking all these admission processes and we have come to know that due to lack of awareness about rules and regulations issued from time to time by respective Government authorities people have faced many difficulties in seeking admission for their ward in the schools, therefore to extend support to the people Pardarshita and Social Jurist is going to start a HELPLINE. By contacting on below mentioned numbers they will not only be made aware about regulations but also they shall be assisted to get the admission in proposed schools.
